Making your own paper is becoming increasingly popular as a hobby and at school. An art with a very long tradition is being rediscovered. Regarding this we are now offering an inexpensive beginner’s set for making paper.
These scoops can be used to make your own paper from waste paper ore paper pulp. You also need large containers to be able to work with the large amount of water needed for paper making.
Paper-Making Step by Step
Making the paper pulp: Waste paper or cellulose is torn into small pieces and soaked in sufficient water.
Paper making: The paper is scooped out of this mass using the scoop sieve, allowing the excess water to drip off through the sieve.
Couching: The scooped paper is placed on the couching felt and couched (pressed out).
Pressing: As much water as possible is squeezed out of the paper covered with another felt using a press or screw clamps and boards. The paper can then be lifted off the felt and laid out to dry.
Re-press and smooth: Before the paper is completely dry, it should be pressed again. Once the paper is dry, it is smoothed with an iron.
